Picking The Right VPS Host:
I originally started with VPS Land because of their lower prices and double up ram feature. Wow!! is their marketing ever deceiving. I figured with a 2048MB RAM VPS server I could easily run 30+ Metatrader platforms with each instance usually only consuming 5,000 to 12,000 K of memory. What a rude awakening that was! Not only was the remote desktop connection laggy with nothing running, I was only able to run at most 5 Metatrader 4 platforms that BARELY ran. They are either lying about their specs, or extremely OVER CROWDED. Regardless, I didn’t even last a month with VPS Land before cancelling my subscription.
I moved on to Ultra Hosting where I have a buddy working. He hooked me up with a 512MB VPS to test out, and what a difference. With just 512mb of memory, I could still run 12-15 Metatrader 4 platforms, and surf the net on it no problem. I moved up to the 1028mb server, and currently have 18 Metatrader platforms running with room for 15+ more. Below is a screenshot from my 1024mb server.

I have a plan to subscribe your VPS for my meta 4 forex trade. I want to open 10 meta 4 plat from (all belongs under one broker). and i am very new on VPS installation and all. So can i expect a team viewer support from your company on initial momentum.

Hey admin,
Im runnig a vps F20 on ultrahosting. I have 5 mt4 runnings currently. Any knowledge on why I would have two of the same positions for each platform? for example I would have a position open for .01 and the corresponding positions should be 1 position at .02. Instead of having only one of those, I have 2 .02 positions.
Would you know why?

what sort of vps hosting do you recommend if eventually i have 20+ mt4 platforms running? would the one your using currently be sufficient enough? (1028mb server) when should you increase to the 2048 mb?

You could probably get away with 20 at ultrahosting with 1028mb. If it becomes a problem you may want to consider getting 2 smaller vps so you have the same or close to the same memory, but double the CPU.

I just signed up with Ultra Hosting, I will have an mt4 account running on the VPS with some EAs, what happens when I open that same mt4 account on my regular computer? Do I also need to install the EAs on my local computer?

when using vps, when we login to meta4 terminal, there is an option to save account information. what do you prefer and usually do, you choose to save account information so next time you login to metatrader, no need to retype your user name and password again.. or..you leave this option blank ? very interested in your opinion.

What is the purpose of installing multiple instances of MT4 for one broker? If I only have one account but many charts running on a few EAs, is it better to separate them into different instances rather than have them running on one instance? Newbie here

Admin, How do I make the terminals reboot after a system reboot. Iwould imagine we get a reboot from UL once a week. This saves me having to go in and start up the instances every week but also if there is an unexpected reboot during the trading week that I would not know about unless I check

Realistcally, how many MT4 copies/sessions could I run with a 512K VPS? Next size up?
Also, i’m with VPSLAND now. Sometimes my VPS is summarily terminated because a numsessions limit is exceeded. Will this happen with you?

Did you notice this SLA from Ultrahosting ? Does it affect your trading using any EA? Is the EA remember where it left off when re-launched again (and not making new trades, but continuing where it left off) ??
All other VPS I know had never do this.
Server Patching and Updating
All VPS servers will be rebooted/patched/updated on a weekly basis. This shall be done on Sunday mornings between 3:00 and 4:00 EST.

After you install the first instance of metatrader 4 from lets say Alpari UK. Run the install again, but this time change the directory it gets install to.
For Example:
C:\Program Files\Metatrader 4 Alpari UK\
C:\Program Files\Metatrader 4 Alpari UK 2\
